Conversation with Yourself
You may say this to yourself, everyone always talks about keeping a journal, and it is always those “granola people”, that is just not my style. Well, I am here to share with you that the granola people might be on to something. What if you looked at journaling not as something someone might read and be able to get into your thoughts or thinking process but as strategy to respond to strong feelings that might have occurred around particular events or people in a day. Investing the time to write about anything you want is time well spent on creating and living your One Jazzy Life. Set your timer for 10 minutes a day and see what you have written in a week
The Jazzy Journey Gold Confidence Transformation System is personalized and I invite you to reply to this email to schedule time a complimentary 30 minute One Jazzy Life Discovery Session to start the process of gaining confidence in your ability to invest your time to reflect your One Jazzy Life AgendaConversation with Mentee
Journaling is one of those sacred processes that has been a part of teenage life for ever in the form of the “locked diary”. I know I remember having one. As I think back it served a distinct purpose. It was a place where I could get my feeling out and I guess that to me felt good. The conversation may begin something like this, your mentee may confide in you about really not knowing what to do in a particular situation. You can always respond with how your might have handled a similar situation in your life but this is a great opportunity to talk about journaling. You can ask her to write down the situation from her prospective and what she might do and keep asking herself the question ” what else can I do” about 10 times and continue to write down the responses. At that point she will have 10 avenues to talk with you about the next time she sees you regarding moving forward with this situation.
If you have a group of high school or middle school girls that you think could benefit from increasing confidence by learning cutting edge communication strategies to manage perceptions, improve speaking and much more, check out my movement WHY WAIT. The mission is to get young people dreaming, speaking and performing like there is a bright future for them to be a part of.
